Using a Stoeger Model 2000 as a 3 Gun Shotgun
Inside the Stoeger Model 2000 semi-auto shotgun is the Inertia Driven® operating system. The Inertia Driven system is the heart of the world’s most prestigious and reliable autoloaders including Benellis.
The Inertia Driven system's reliability has to do with its simplicity...it has only three moving parts in the bolt—the inertia spring, the bolt body, and the rotating locking head.
The Stoeger Model 2000 fires everything from 1-1/8 ounce field and target loads to the heaviest 3” waterfowl loads without adjustments. Plus, with no propellant gas venting into the operating system, the Model 2000 stays cleaner.
Reliability, versatility, and value make the Model 2000 the ideal semi-auto shotgun. No other in its price range even compares.
The drawback to the Stoeger is its low capacity magazine. It only hold 4 shells in the tube (and 1 in the chamber) so in order to make it into a high-performance 3 Gun shotgun, you will have to add an extension tube onto it. The good news is the extension tube will increase its capacity to 9 shells in the tube and 1 in the chamber! On top of that, adding the extension tube is really a cheap and easy task that anyone can do...and when its all said and done, you'll have a 3 Gun shotgun that performs at close to the same level as a Benelli for a tiny fraction of the price.
